Running with Purpose, Circling for Change
In 2021, a spark of inspiration turned into a powerful movement. Inspired by a prayer practice from The Circle Maker and the endurance of ultramarathons, the Heritage All Day 5K was born — a unique event where we run circles around our community, literally and spiritually, to support children and families in foster care.
Each lap is more than a step forward; it's a prayer, a pledge, and a promise to our community’s most vulnerable.
Our Story: From Garage Closet to Community Impact
What started as a foster closet in a member’s garage has blossomed into Foster-to-Foster, a free thrift store providing clothes, strollers, diapers, and essentials to foster families across Tampa Bay. In 2024 alone, 1,573 families shopped for free, supported by 2,360 volunteer hours — all powered by the heart of Heritage and friends like you.
Our ministries go beyond foster care, uplifting children and youth through preschool programs, community projects, and special events — all focused on handing the church to the next generation and building a future filled with hope.
Why We Run
Foster families face immense challenges — from financial strain to emotional needs — and 50% of new foster parents leave within a year. By running (or walking) together, we raise funds and awareness, showing these families they’re not alone.
We aren't just running for medals or personal bests; we’re running for kids who deserve safe homes, for parents who need a hand, and for neighbors who may never have known these needs existed.
